proof

We hear the phrase “if you really care, you’ll show it” and although I agree, I also think more often than not we get confused with how we best show it. Society can make us feel like the only way to prove the existence of our devotion is making some sort of public display about it. I don’t belive that’s the way, at least not all the time. At this point of my life I’d say real proof lies in what is not always seen. The real proof is when we don’t mind the hardship that comes along with creating a better lifestyle for ourselves, when we accept the discomfort of the old changing into the new, when we are able to risk the adventures in loving someone without fear, when we choose to dismiss temporary emotions because we know greater is ahead of us. And seldom, do we make a show out of those circumstances.

When life gives us a moment where we feel the need to “prove it” I hope we all remember the importance of presenting truth for what it is. What matters most isn’t always going to be the attractive thing on display.
