Along with each following sunrise they would create moments to grow together as past hurt was traded for a hopeful future. Little did they know that flowers would come from the seeds of devotion they’d sown. And little did they know what more was growing during this time. Without knowing how many trees would be established in love, they continued to apply all efforts. What was planted years before me now offers branches full of opportunity and roots founded in assurance. For what they worked toward is still providing nourishment, comfort, and protection. All of this resulting in a canopy — a shelter, to this day— giving solace that is similar to shade, taking the heat for me and all that I choose to love.
